It Was an Appointment....

Salút!

"C'était un rendez-vous"

1976 - director Claude Lelouch affixes a gyro-stabilized 35mm camera to the front of his Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9 and creates one of the finest examples of cinéma-vérité ever filmed....

EDIT: The used to be an embedded YouTube version of this but it has since been removed by Spirit Level Films due to copyright - or better said so they can sell you a 15€ DVD of it. Sharing is caring guys....

This was filmed on a whim after the filming of "Si c'était à refaire" with leftover film in a camera that didn't need to be turned in for a while

I will not go into the specifics - there are numerous sites that examine this film in much greater detail

Imagine the stones it took to film this. Lelouch was quoted as saying:

"Yes, I was scared. I was scared of running out of film."

What a man.

Wer bremst, verliert.
